SHARING YOUR CARING HEART
Waconia Southview Elementary school's guiding principle is what they term "The Caring Heart". This collaborative Artist In Residence project illustrates the idea of sharing your caring heart. I worked with students K-5 and staff to paint 600 tiles. This is the biggest A.I.R program I have done. Each tile is unique to who painted it. I drew the design on the tiles and limited the paint colors for each color area on the design. The students and staff did the rest. After the tiles were painted I mounted them to the wall and continued the design onto the rest of the wall. This is the first time I painted a mural in conjunction with the tiles. I love how we transformed a boring hallway Ito a burst of color.
